Marriage

The matrimonial alliance, by which the man and the woman constitute among themselves a lifelong consortium, ordered by its very nature to the good of the spouses and the generation and education of offspring, was raised by Christ Our Lord to the dignity of the sacrament among the baptized" (CIC can. 1055, §1)
